Lajja - Taslima Nasreen

Most of the time when i talk about "Lajja" people always used to say yes yes we have seen the movie its nice and touching, but "HELLO" I am not talking about the movie right, but i can get back on that soon. Lajja (Shame) a contemporary piece of writing subsequently banned in Bangladesh is written by great FEMINIST, Taslima Nasreen, a writer originated from Bangladesh. Just like  Leila Ahmed, Fatima Mernissi and many other Islamic Feminist, (the list is quite a long one) but she has her own way of expressing words and female predicaments. She really did a wonderful job in this Novel, which is a response to the Anti- Hindu riots in Bangladesh. When the Babri Masjid was demolished (December 6, 1992) in Ayodhya (India) it has its repercussions in the neighboring country like Bangladesh where Sudhamoy, who think that he can die here in Bangladesh (His Motherland) and his wife who walked with him at every instance of life, Suranjan their son who wants to leave the country but could not and Nilanjana her sister who blames her brother for every thing that happend to their family.

This novel unfold the every layer of communal hatred which was faced by the Dutta family which turn out to be chaotic and disillusionment.
